Wyatt Teller reflects on Browns departure before Texans move

Teller was released by the Browns after a poor 2025 season which saw him play and start 13 games before being placed on a season-ending injured reserve in December. He suffered from injuries and was ultimately blamed for the team’s offensive struggles in 2025. He then signed a two-year contract with the Texans worth $16 million.

He recently addressed his departure from the Browns during OTAs in June 2026 and acknowledged that his mistakes led to it. During an interview, he revealed this information. He said, “In all honesty, I got a little complacent. You get used to a city, you get used to a routine and everything like that. It kind of re-fired me up.”

Teller added that he was not going to fully blame himself and that he was let go for one poor season. He said, “I’m not going to throw away six years that they treated me unbelievable for six months of indifference, or whatever. I still have no ill will toward anybody there, but it felt like they kinda blamed it on the offensive line, which, don’t get me wrong, did we play at our standard? We’re a top five offensive line for so long, and then we kinda dropped off. There’s so much issues, you can’t point to one thing.”

It seems that the player was not satisfied with his departure, with his wife subtly posting about it recently.

Wyatt Teller’s wife Carly posts subtle dig at Browns

Teller’s wife Carly recently posted after the Browns traded defensive end Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams in a blockbuster deal. She posted a popular GIF of a girl smiling while a house is burning in the background. It felt like a subtle attack towards the franchise, and hinting at the recent departures affecting them.

However, when confronted by a fan in the comments about why she hated the Browns, she replied, “I love Cleveland!” While her true intentions with the GIF are unknown, it does seem the family was displeased with Teller’s departure.

Wyatt Teller will now focus on the 2026 NFL season as the Texans aim to improve themselves.
