King was best known to many fans as one of the most recognizable voices of Bulls basketball, bringing energy and personality to the broadcast booth after his playing career.

Before becoming a popular broadcaster, King spent eight seasons in the NBA, including five with the Chicago Bulls. He was selected by Chicago with the No. 6 pick in the 1989 NBA Draft.

During his time with the Bulls, King was part of the franchise’s first three championship teams, winning NBA titles alongside Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen in 1991, 1992, and 1993.
