The New York Knicks are dominating the 2026 NBA Playoffs like a train without brakes. Following their 13th consecutive postseason win in Game 2 against the San Antonio Spurs, New York became just the second team in NBA history to win that many games in a single playoff run, trailing only the 2017 Golden State Warriors' 15-game record.
With San Antonio down 0-2, the series now shifts to Madison Square Garden. For Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, this kind of one-sided dominance is exactly what could ruin the fun of watching the Finals as a pure hoops fan.
While in New York, she watched Game 2 on her phone during dinner with teammate Lexie Hull. When the Knicks won, she joked with Hull that they should have gone straight to Madison Square Garden to take in the energy of the massive fan watch party outside.
"I was out to dinner last night, and it was fun to just see the buzz around the city, and how passionate fans are," Clark said. "I was joking with Lexie, I'm like, man, we should have gone right outside MSG after they won, because I always want to see those people... where they're like jumping around on each other and climbing light poles. Those Knicks fans are so passionate and crazy. I admire it."
That passion fits her perspective as a basketball fan. She referred to the Spurs' competitive playoff run as the standard she wants for the Finals, noting that a quick sweep lacks the tension and ruins the spice of a long series. Clark wants the Championship to be decided in Game 7.
“I'm a fan of basketball, so I love great games," she said. "I'm kind of indifferent on who wins, but I'm just such a basketball fan that I would love to see it go to seven games, just because I think it's been such a great series.”
Caitlin Clark says she doesn't want the Knicks to sweep the NBA finals, and that she wants the series to go to a Game 7 because she's "a fan of basketball."

Only five teams in NBA history have ever overcome a 0-2 Finals deficit to win a title and none have done it after dropping the first two games at home. Though the odds don’t look anywhere near good in their favor, let’s see if the Spurs can eventually force a Game 7.
