Fat Joe drops all-time bar on Knicks’ NBA Finals run

The New York Knicks are two wins away from winning their first NBA championship in 53 years as they take on the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals. The Knicks stole both of the first two games of the series on the road, and have now won 13 straight playoff games overall.

Recently, rapper and Knicks superfan Fat Joe dropped an interesting analogy to describe how New York's playoff run has brought the city together.

“I seen Hasidic Jews break dancing with Black kids. This is the greatest unification of the city since 9/11,” said Fat Joe, per Kris Pursiainen of ClutchPoints on X, formerly Twitter.

The streets of New York City have been packed after Knicks playoff wins during this run, particularly during the NBA Finals, with the eyes of the NBA world solely on New York and San Antonio as they do battle for the right to hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy.

The Knicks last lost in Game 3 of the first round against the Atlanta Hawks, all the way back in late April. Since then, New York has reeled off 13 straight wins, 11 of which have come by double figures, and the fact that they've gone up 2-0 in the NBA Finals despite a rough series from Jalen Brunson so far makes matters all the more impressive.

Karl-Anthony Towns has been elite on both ends of the floor so far in this series and would likely win the Finals MVP award if the series ended today. However, New York still needs to earn two more wins against a Spurs team that has shown some impressive resilience in these playoffs so far.

Fat Joe and thousands of other Knicks superfans will be in attendance when New York hits the floor for Game 3 on Monday night.
