Former Steeler Visits Camp
Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Terence Garvin recently spent time with the team during minicamp. He shared this photo with head coach Mike McCarthy with the caption: “Always learning. @steelers always good energy. Thankful to be [a part] of the nation.”
Garvin made the roster as a tryout player and appeared in 43 games for the Steelers from 2013-2015. Post-career, he broke into coaching and spent the 2025 season as Norfolk State’s defensive coordinator under head coach and former teammate Mike Vick.
McCarthy is keeping the team’s tradition of inviting back former players, an aspect that makes Pittsburgh unique among many other franchises.
NBA Finals Picks
The Steelers asked players to predict who would win the NBA Finals: the New York Knicks or the San Antonio Spurs?
The final tally? Spurs 26, Knicks 14. Notable names picking San Antonio included QB Aaron Rodgers and DL Cam Heyward. Many younger players like Jack Sawyer and Eli Heidenreich chose the Knicks, though veteran DL Sebastian Joseph-Day also picked New York to prevail.
This video happened before Game Two’s 105-104 Knicks win, which gave them a 2-0 series lead. The team that most Steelers chose as an underdog has a clear path to a title. Game Three tips off Monday night.
Broncos Player Arrested
Denver Broncos linebacker Jonathon Cooper was arrested Thursday night on domestic violence charges, per NFL.com.
“Cooper was taken into custody by the Parker Police Department at 11:16 p.m. local time and booked into the Douglas County jail at 2:38 a.m.
Cooper appeared in court Friday morning. His next scheduled court date is Monday at 10 a.m.”
Cooper allegedly got into an altercation with his girlfriend, whom police also arrested on the same charges.
Cooper's girlfriend also arrested on criminal mischief/domestic violence charges. The incident centered around girlfriend trying to get Cooper's cell phone and Cooper wanting to keep it, according to affadavit. https://t.co/w5UOKDMrKU

Though early in the investigation, Cooper could be subject to NFL discipline if convicted. But the league often waits for more information, and Josh Jacobs’ recently dropped charges show that Cooper’s name could be cleared in time.
Pittsburgh and Denver face each other in Week 12. The Broncos boast one of the NFL’s best defenses, finishing 2025 third in points allowed and second in yards.
