Incident happened day before Trump visit

The incident happened just after 7 p.m., the New York Post reported, citing FDNY.

It was unclear what led to the incident, although the Post reported via sources that the suspect was in an emotionally disturbed state.

The incident came amid heightened security concerns in New York City with U.S. President Donald Trump expected to attend Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Monday night at Madison Square Garden, which is across the road from Penn Station.

Trump recently said that he accepted an invitation to the game from New York Knicks owner James Dolan.
