The Boston Celtics are reportedly among the multitude of teams vying for the services of Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, who has clearly been the most talked-about player in the offseason.
Antetokounmpo is purportedly insistent on remaining in the Eastern Conference. That should bode well for the Celtics, the Miami Heat, the Orlando Magic, and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Milwaukee is willing to consider any offer, and Boston could find a way to meet the high asking price for the two-time MVP, including possibly including All-Star guard Jaylen Brown in the package.
ESPN's Brian Windhorst, however, was not optimistic about the chances of the Celtics landing Antetokounmpo.
“I have not heard that Boston is on Giannis' list. I have not heard that Giannis is prepared to sign the extension with Boston. So frankly, the Jaylen Brown part is new to me. If I hear a yes-yes, now, let's have a discussion,” said Windhorst in an interview with CLNS Media.
“By the way, maybe they are true. Just because I haven't heard it doesn't mean it's not true. But until those two things are true, I don't think it's really something that's in the world of reality.”

Some believe that the 31-year-old Antetokounmpo might be keen on joining Boston because of its status alone as one of the most esteemed franchises in the NBA and its consistent standing as a serious contender.
There have been whispers that the 29-year-old Brown, who delivered an MVP-type campaign, has grown frustrated with the front office, and the Celtics might ship him. Brown, however, recently reaffirmed his commitment to the squad.
Antetokounmpo, meanwhile, played a career-low 36 games this season, averaging 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists.
