Fabrizio Romano bombshell:'The deal is on'as Liverpool continue negotiations over controversial summer transfer

Fans online are split over whether or not Curtis Jones should be sold this summer, but Fabrizio Romano reports that the ‘deal is still on.’

The Scouser was one of the few players to speak out against Arne Slot’s tactics this season, and despite the Dutchman’s sacking, he still looks set to leave the club.

After Liverpool lost 4-1 to PSV Eindhoven in November, Jones ranted about the situation at the club to RTE. He said: “I don’t have the answers. Honestly, I don’t. I’m saying that to everybody. It’s just unacceptable. I don’t even have to wait to think about it.

“I’m past being angry inside. I’m at the point now where I just don’t have the words. But right now, we’re in the s***, and it needs to change.”

It didn’t change, and seven months later, Arne Slot lost his job, but the tragic consequence is that it may now cost the club Jones as well.

Liverpool look set to sell Jones to Inter as ‘the deal is still on’

Reporting on YouTube, Fabrizio Romano supplied information on Jones’ transfer situation, stating that while Inter Milan and Liverpool remain apart in their valuation of Jones, negotiations are ongoing.

“Chiesa was asked about Curtis Jones and Inter because Inter are very interested in Curtis Jones,” said Romano.

“Inter are starting around €20m, Liverpool want more than €30m, maybe including a sell-on clause and bonuses, so there’s still a big gap between Inter and Liverpool, but the deal is on.

“Jones is keen on the move and Chiesa said Jones asked him how life is in Italy.”

Federico Chiesa confirms that Jones asked him about playing in Italy

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Chiesa confirmed that Jones came to him to ask about what it’s like playing in Serie A with the news that he is in talks to go to Inter Milan now widespread.

Chiesa said: “I told him it’s great and the weather is better than Liverpool, which, aside from that, is a special place.

“Jones is really strong technically. Inter are right to think about him.”

Not only is it a shame that Jones might leave the club, but for the price being reported, it’s not even going to be very beneficial to let him leave.
