NBA insider proposes blockbuster Heat trade for Giannis, Kawhi Leonard

According to NBA insider Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson, the Heat could become a potential destination for both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard in a proposed three-team blockbuster trade.

The Miami Heat are expected to be among the most aggressive teams this offseason, with rumors surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo growing louder as the summer begins.

However, Giannis might not be the only superstar Miami could target.

According to NBA insider Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson, the Heat could emerge as a potential destination for both Antetokounmpo and Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard in a proposed three-team blockbuster trade.

Proposed three-team trade

Heat receive:

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Kawhi Leonard

Clippers receive:

Andrew Wiggins

Nikola Jovic

Heat's unprotected 2031 first-round pick

Bucks receive:

Tyler Herro

Davion Mitchell

Jaime Jaquez Jr.

Kel'el Ware

No. 13 pick in 2026 NBA DraftHeat's 2029

"Miami protects Bam Adebayo and Norman Powell while constructing a devastating defensive and offensive core. A defensive frontcourt featuring Adebayo, Antetokounmpo, and a healthy Leonard would instantly become one of the most formidable units in modern NBA history," Robinson explained from the Heat's perspective.

"For Leonard, it represents a highly anticipated on-court reunion with Powell, a recapture of the 2019 championship chemistry, and a fresh championship window under Erik Spoelstra."

Robinson also explained why the deal could make sense for Milwaukee if Antetokounmpo were to request a change of scenery.

"If a franchise player forces a change of scenery, a recovery package is rarely this deep. The Bucks would inherit an elite scoring guard in Tyler Herro, high-upside youth in Jaime Jaquez Jr., defensive depth in Davion Mitchell, and a promising young big man in Kel'el Ware," Robinson wrote.

"Paired with draft capital - including the No. 13 pick in the 2026 draft and a 2029 first-rounder - Milwaukee positions itself effectively for a post-Giannis era."

For the Clippers, the proposed trade would provide both established talent and future flexibility.

"Los Angeles shuffles the deck by absorbing a proven veteran wing in Andrew Wiggins alongside a highly skilled, versatile young forward in Nikola Jovic. Combined with an unprotected 2031 first-round asset from Miami, the Clippers secure future flexibility as they navigate an increasingly competitive Western Conference," Robinson explained.

While three-team megadeals remain difficult to complete under the current collective bargaining agreement, Robinson noted that the framework exists.

"If Giannis decides to turn the rumor mill into reality, Pat Riley and the Heat possess the exact aggressive blueprint required to reshape the league," he concluded.
