Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in a transfer for Marcus Rashford this summer and will have no qualms paying Manchester United's £34.5million asking price. That's according to The Sun, who says Vincent Kompany's side are ready to sign the England international, but his reported £325,000-per-week wages are a stumbling block

Rashford spent last season on loan with La Liga side Barcelona, helping them win the Spanish title, and reportedly took a wage cut to join Hansi Flick's side. The 28-year-old scored 14 goals and notched 14 assists in all competitions for Barca, but there's a reluctance to make the deal a permanent one.

Rashford spoke about a move to Barcelona being his 'dream' this summer, but the La Liga giants are reluctant to pay the £26m fee to make the move permanent.

Flick's side has already splashed the cash on Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon, for a reported fee of £60m. Barca are said to be turning their attention to a striker, with Rashford's future now unclear.

Several Premier League clubs are said to have registered an interest in Rashford, while Bayern are the latest big-name club to register an interest.

The report claims Bayern will have no issue in matching United's valuation, but given Rashford might not be a regular starter, they would need him to reduce his wages.

Bayern are still feeling the effects of Barcelona's swoop to sign Gordon, having felt they were in pole position to sign the England star from Newcastle.

The German champions are looking to bolster their options out on the left-hand side of their attack and were linked with a sensational swoop for Liverpool youngster Rio Ngumoha.

However, United's Premier League rivals do not want to sell the rising star, and Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli is another option for Kompany's side.

Again, Arsenal want to cash in on the Brazilian but he'd command a big transfer fee, with the report claiming Rashford would be the cheapest alternative.

It claims the England international needs to come to terms with accepting smaller wages, with no club across Europe willing to match his current wages.

Nevertheless, Bayern's stance could change if they sell Michael Olise to Real Madrid, amid ongoing speculation linking the French international with a move to the Bernabeu.
