Jordan Pickford has now spent nine years at Everton and has repeatedly attracted attention from elsewhere.
The goalkeeper will soon start another World Cup, with England placed in a group alongside Croatia, Ghana and Panama. He remains the Three Lions’ first-choice between the sticks and will have a key role at the tournament.
Juventus are keeping a close eye on him, as they look for a new shot-stopper.
Pickford on the shortlist
TuttoJuve look at Juve’s desperate need for a goalkeeper. Michele Di Gregorio is likely to leave after a poor season by his standards. Mattia Perin can also depart, leaving Luciano Spalletti looking around for a first-choice.
Everton’s Pickford has landed on their shortlist, with the Old Lady increasingly looking at Premier League players with interest. The 32-year-old’s experience for England is seen as a big plus by the Bianconeri.
Signing Pickford wouldn’t be cheap, and the whole package may be out of Juve’s budget.
They are assessing the ‘cost-to-benefit ratio’ and evaluating if the money spent can prove to be good value.
Other options could be more viable
Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford
As things stand, Jordan Pickford’s Everton contract runs until 2029. This can make things difficult for Juve, who have Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario as another option.
Vicario isn’t at the same level as Pickford, but is keen on a return to Serie A.
Pickford, on the other hand, seems well settled on Merseyside.
