Todd Monken said the Browns have Two 'Starting Level' QBs; If so, will He Pick One after…

BEREA, Ohio -- As the Cleveland Browns come together for the final time before the summer hiatus, the Browns have some decisions to make, but none are more important than who will be the Browns starting quarterback.

The upcoming three day mandatory minicamp this week from Tuesday through Thursday is the final chance for the quarterbacks--namely Deshaun Watson and**Shedeur Sanders** - to separate from each other--at least before training camp. The Browns have not announced the exact start of training camp, but first year head coaches can begin in late July.

Todd Monken has said from the early part of the offseason that he would like to have his starting quarterback determined in the spring. However, last Wednesday, Monken said he is not so sure that will happen.

"In a perfect world, you'd love to have your starting quarterback, right?" Monken said after OTA practice No. 8 on June 3. "And you'd love to have your O-line set. I'm not sure we'll be there, I'm just not. I think both quarterbacks have played well enough where we haven't really been in pads. We haven't played any games yet. Haven't really got to that point yet."

Monken admitted the difference between Watson and Sanders has been close enough for him to go back and forth between the two in his mind.

"Every day I kind of lean one way or the other with quarterbacks," he said. "But we still got to get to that point...and then quarterback, who's going to start for us. But I'm fired up by the quarterbacks. I just tell you, we got two starting level quarterbacks. We really do."

Despite saying he wanted to have his quarterback in place, there is a good chance that Monken will not be ready to make an announcement at the end of the minicamp or even at the beginning of training camp.
