Munster Hurling Final Draws Two Of Irish Football's Biggest Names

The Munster hurling final attracted a host of familiar faces to Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Sunday, including two footballers who know a thing or two about winning major trophies.

Former Liverpool teammates Conor Bradley and Caoimhín Kelleher were both spotted in the crowd as Limerick edged Cork in another dramatic provincial decider.

Bradley, who helped Liverpool win the Premier League in 2025, was pictured in the stands before the game and also posed for photographs with the famous Barrack Street Band ahead of throw-in.

Also in attendance was Cork goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher, who arrived decked out in Rebel colours to support his native county.

Kelleher and Bradley shared a dressing room at Anfield before the Corkman completed a move to Brentford in the summer of 2025 after five years as Liverpool's understudy to Alisson Becker.

Their Premier League triumph together was a landmark moment, making them the first players from Ireland to win the competition since 2013.

There was another strong Liverpool-GAA connection present at the game too.

Former Limerick and Na Piarsaigh hurler David Breen is part of Liverpool's first-team backroom staff as a physiotherapist and was sitting alongside Kelleher at the match.

David Breen was a key member of the Na Piarsaigh side that dominated Limerick hurling and won the All-Ireland club title in 2016, before later moving into elite sports performance, working with Munster, Leinster, Manchester City and Harlequins.

On the field, veteran goalkeeper Nickie Quaid rolled back the years with a sensational man-of-the-match performance for Limerick, while free-taker Aidan O'Connor hit 0-8 and the ever influential Gearóid Hegarty scored 1-1 as John Kiely's side regained the Munster title they lost last year to Cork.
