The Cleveland Browns traded away Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams last week for Jared Verse and draft picks. There are questions about whether or not Cleveland should trade away cornerback Denzel Ward to another team. Ward has two years remaining on his contract.

It is necessary for the Browns to keep some veterans on the roster like him. Ward is one of the best cornerbacks in the league. If Cleveland does field some calls for him either before the season or during the season, general manager Andrew Berry should not ignore those calls depending on how things play out for them moving forward.
Cleveland Browns CB Denzel Ward Makes Feelings Known About Wanting To Stay

On Saturday, Ward hosted his inaugural celebrity softball game. During the event, he spoke about whether or not he wants to stay with the Browns. Ward said,
“I definitely still want to be here. Myles is a good friend of mine, a great teammate, but things aren’t lost. It’s Ohio against the world. So people could doubt us, but we’re going out there still trying to play our best ball and bring wins to the city.”
It is very possible that this team doesn’t win many games once again this season. Cleveland only won five games last season. They had a 5-12 record and are looking to show improvements this season. If Ward is still on the roster by the time the 2026 NFL season begins, the Browns need to be winning games. If that doesn’t happen, then Ward’s name is going to be mentioned in trade rumors potentially.
