Chiefs News 6/8: Former Chiefs TE reunites with Aaron Rodgers

So there has been some interesting views from people on here sharing their biased view or spinning his successes in a way that gives him no credit. Let’s hear quote's from people who’s opinions actually matter though.

Julian Edelman (10 seasons with O'Shea in New England): Edelman heavily credited O'Shea with structuring his development and detailed game preparation. He noted that O'Shea "knows how to deal with people in a real way" and emphasized that a player always knew they had a great coach because O'Shea constantly "gave you great cut-ups that helped you with your game"

Rob Gronkowski (Former Patriots Tight End): Following O'Shea's move to the Kansas City Chiefs coaching staff, Gronkowski publicly stated, "I would say he's responsible for Julian Edelman's career in New England." He added, "I love Chaddy O... He's a top 3 wide receiver coach in the NFL, no doubt about that."

Kevin Stefanski (Head Coach,Cleveland Browns): When hiring O’Shea as his passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach, Stefanski highly commended his foundation:

"He has a unique knowledge of a successful program... Chad is a grinder. He is a tireless worker. He loves the teaching aspect of coaching, and he is a great person."

“Chad is a grinder. He is a tireless worker. He loves the teaching aspect of coaching, and he is a great person."

Josh McDaniels (Former Patriots Offensive Coordinator): McDaniels consistently deflected the credit for New England's incredibly dominant red-zone efficiency to O’Shea:"Chad has a tremendous grasp of our total offense, but he's incredibly responsible for any and all of our success in the red zone. He works tirelessly on it, handles the installation, and the players completely buy into his plan."

Brian Flores (Former Dolphins Head Coach / Vikings Defensive Coordinator): When bringing O'Shea from New England to Miami to serve as his offensive coordinator, Flores lauded his standard of teaching:

"Chad has a great football mind and is an outstanding teacher. He sets a very high bar for accountability, fundamentals, and attention to detail. His players are always fundamentally sound and understand the 'why' behind what we are trying to do on the field."

Amari Cooper (Veteran NFL Wide Receiver): While working under O'Shea's direction in Cleveland, Cooper noted the level of precision O'Shea installs into the offense daily:

"Coach O'Shea doesn't miss a beat. He expects us to run routes with exact depth and timing. When you have a coach that details every single step, it gives you confidence because you know exactly how the play is supposed to breathe against certain coverages."

“He wants things done exactly how they are drawn up. There is no gray area with Coach O'Shea. He holds you accountable to the exact yardage on your breaks because he knows that's how you beat tight NFL coverage. It makes you sharper as a receiver."

Danny Amendola (Former Patriots Wide Receiver): Amendola repeatedly pointed out that O'Shea's intensity drove their entire room to mirror his work ethic:

"Chaddy's room was intense, but it was fair. He put in the long hours to make sure we were perfectly prepared for whatever the defense threw at us. You respect a guy who works just as hard, if not harder, than the players he's coaching."

Brandon LaFell (Former Patriots Wide Receiver): LaFell explicitly credited O’Shea with orchestrating his career-best performance in the NFL:

“Man C.O. was a great coach that helped me have my best season statistically in the NFL. He knows how to get the best out of his players, does a great job helping you self-scout yourself (strengths & weaknesses) and demands out from you. THIS GUY KNOWS...”

Chris Hogan (Former Patriots Wide Receiver): Hogan, who won two Super Bowls under O'Shea's direction, has been highly vocal about his coaching pedigree, stating bluntly:

“Best WR coach I have ever had.”

work ethic O'Shea brings to the facility to help his players succeed:

"Oh, C.O. You talk about a coach, he puts as much into it as the guys do. Ton of respect for coach O'Shea. He coaches us well. It's a guy who comes to work and he brings it every day. He's dedicated to the team in doing the best job he can to put us in the best positions to succeed."

Jakobi Meyers (Former Patriots Wide Receiver): Reflecting on the tough love and strict teaching environment O'Shea built for young, unheralded rookies:

"He was hard on me, but it was exactly what I needed coming into the league. He didn't let any little mistake slide. If your stance was slightly off or your eyes weren't right, he’d call you out in front of the whole room. It forced you to grow up fast."

Jason Dunn (Former NFL Tight End & Media Analyst): Breaking down exactly what a young receiver room encounters under O'Shea's strict teaching curriculum:

"He’s also kind of a no-nonsense guy. He's all about business. But one thing they'll know is everything that you need to know about wide receiver position and play, he's not gonna leave anything out. He's not gonna let those guys fail. So, he's gonna expect excellence, because that's how he teaches."

Tom Brady’s Explicit Words on Chad O'Shea:

Chad does a great job with that room. It's a very challenging offense to learn, and Chad is so detailed in making sure those guys are caught up. He works tirelessly with them, and you can see the progress every single week because of the expectations he sets."

I've been fortunate to be around coaches like Chad who just don't let up. They see the game through the quarterback's eyes, which makes my job infinitely easier on Sundays. When your receiver coach is that dialed into the minutiae, the entire offense elevates."

Direct Quotes from Bill Belichick on Chad O'Shea:

“That's a tough position to play here. Chad does a very good job with all of those guys. He coaches multiple positions, outside to inside. Our guys are very involved in blocking and we do a lot of game planning and formationing and so forth. Chad's an excellent WR coach”

“He has a good relationship with his players, has a good relationship with all of the staff members, easy to work with. He comes from a football background... He has a great history with the game and with the sport.”

“If I ask Chad, 'What happened on this route?' Then, 'Hey, we got jammed' or, 'The corner did this and the safety did this and that's why we ran it that way.' I can't see all 22 players at once... We definitely talk about those things. It's a skill.”

These are the opinions I care about not some of the dribble some people on here type into their chat box.

The 21 years of specifically coaching WRs experience and accountability he brings to the WR room in addition to bringing back EB with his no nonsense approach should get the best out of our WR room. Although we don’t have the most talented WR room in the league we should see the best version of them which we definitely were not getting prior.

Compared to Connor Embree who only coached for 7 years all with KC it should be night and day.

I don’t know about y’all but this is the type of thing that gets me excited for what’s to come. No matter what the people that live with a negative mindset say!
