There are a lot of people who are not happy about the Chicago Bears latest stadium announcement. The Bears organization will be looking to develop its new stadium site in Hammond, Indiana. Many Chicago fans are upset at the situation. They are blaming this on Mayor Brandon Johnson, Governor JB Pritzker, Chairman George McCaskey, and President Kevin Warren.

The Bears lease at Solider Field is up in 2033. There are many fans who wished the team stayed in downtown Chicago but that is not going to happen. The choices were either Arlington Heights, Illinois or Hammond, Indiana. The Bears organization chose Hammond, Indiana instead and it is actually closer to Chicago than Arlington Heights is. When people are in Hammond, people can see the skyline of Chicago, Illinois. However, some former NFL players are not thrilled that the Bears are leaving Chicago.
Former NFL Player Chris Canty Blames Greed on the Chicago Bears Moving Out of Illinois Entirely

Former NFL player Chris Canty was on the radio show Unsportsmanlike on ESPN Radio on Monday morning. Well, he is not thrilled about the Bears leaving Chicago entirely. Canty said,
“It’s DISGUSTING that greed would take the team out of the state.”
Well, the interesting thing is that Canty played for the New York Giants during his NFL career and they played in East Rutherford, New Jersey. With the Bears moving out of Chicago to Hammond, Indiana in the future, it is going to be the same thing as the Giants and Jets playing in New Jersey. The Bears will be the second team in the state of Indiana along with the Indianapolis Colts. With that being said, greed does have some role in this, but Illinois state politicians are also to blame for the Bears leaving Illinois as well.
