NBA Insider Drops Update On Celtics' Interest In Trading Away Jaylen Brown

The Boston Celtics were eliminated in the first round of the NBA Playoffs this year, and this summer could bring major changes as a result.

Jaylen Brown currently has three years left on his contract, but is eligible for a two-year extension in July. His name has been floating around in trade rumors. He had a great season, but there has been some controversy around the comments he made after the season ended. Additionally, if the Celtics want to acquire a superstar, like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Brown would seemingly have to be dealt.

While rumors are prevalent, NBA insider Brian Windhorst recently noted that the Celtics may not be interested in trading him away. He acknowledged that teams may be calling, but the Celtics may not actually make him available.

"I have not heard any material true discussions," Windhorst said during an appearance on CLNS Media on Sunday. "I'm certain maybe someone has called on Jaylen Brown, but I have not heard one iota of Jaylen Brown truly being available."

Brown received MVP votes this year and helped lead the Celtics to the playoffs. With Jayson Tatum out for most of the season, Brown proved many doubters wrong and helped the Celtics finish as the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference.

He is a great player, and he and Tatum have proven they can win a championship together. While the allure of a star like Antetokounmpo may be high, the Celtics may believe that Tatum and Brown can still win together.
