Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs received a cold New York welcome outside the hotel they booked ahead of Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
As the Silver and Black left Manhattan’s Ritz Carlton Nomad, a crowd of angry New Yorkers swarmed the team, booing and jeering, video tweeted out by Barstool sports shows.
“Keep the bus running, you’re going to be out of here in two days,” one Knicks fan can be heard saying in the clip.
“Yo, Wemby! Get ready to go golfing, buddy!” the man continued.
Although the verbal jabs were meant to get under Wembanyama’s skin, the Spurs star forward can be seen smiling while boarding the team’s bus.
The Spurs face off against the Knicks in Game 3 of the NBA Finals at 7:30 p.m. Monday. The game will air on ESPN and stream on YouTube TV.
