Unlike some attendees, such as President Donald Trump, New York City Mayor and Knicks fan Zohran Mamdani will be paying his way to Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
He told reporters on Monday, June 8, 2026, that he paid “nearly $1,000” for his standing room only ticket to Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

That is an extremely steep price to pay, but considering what some tickets are selling for, he got a good price. He did note that he purchased it directly from Madison Square Garden.

Mamdani will be among the many celebrities at the next Knicks playoff game. Trump will also be there after having been invited by James Dolan.
Presumably, they won't be the only celebrities at the game. Spike Lee, Timothée Chalamet, Ben Stiller, and Fat Joe are usually shoo-ins to go to the games. They all traveled to San Antonio, Texas, to catch the first two games of the series.
It shouldn't come as a surprise that Mamdani is paying his way to the game. He previously attended Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals at the Garden, paying $700 for his seat in the nosebleeds.
Mamdani is currently the 112th mayor of New York City. He has been in his position since January 2026. Prior to his time as mayor, he served as a member of the New York State Assembly, representing Astoria, Queens.
The Knicks will host the San Antonio Spurs for Games 3 and 4 of the NBA Finals. The games at the Garden will be played on Monday, June 8, and Wednesday, June 10. They won both of the first two games in San Antonio to open the series, meaning they are two wins away from the franchise's first championship in 53 years.
