Moretto: Milan could explore move for Barcelona centre-back Rangnick ‘really appreciates’

As the Ralf Rangnick to AC Milan rumours continue to swirly, potential transfer targets are now also coming to light.

In an update video on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, Matteo Moretto confirmed that new talks took place between Milan and Rangnick over the weekend, with a decision expected soon. In these chats, it is almost certain that various names to strengthen the squad have been mentioned.

For example, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported earlier on Monday that David Alaba could be a name that Rangnick looks to bring with him. The 34-year-old has left Real Madrid on a free transfer and may follow his Austrian national team coach to San Siro, as an experienced reinforcement.

Moretto: Rangnick ‘really appreciates’ Christensen

Now, Moretto has put forward another name as being someone that the Rossoneri could be asked to make an attempt for if Rangnick were to take the reins.

“One of the names of players most appreciated by Ralf Rangnick is someone I know well because he plays in Spain: Andreas Christensen. His contract is expiring in June, in a few weeks, but I can tell you that there is an agreement with Barcelona to extend his contract for another two years,” he said.

“As of now, the intention is to continue together for Barça and Christensen. But I can tell you that Rangnick has a lot of respect for him. Obviously, he’ll have to sort out the sporting director and coach if he’s the one, but the Dane’s profile is one that Rangnick really appreciates.”
