The [Los Angeles Rams](https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/los-angeles-rams) enter the 2026 season with high expectations. Even before they traded for superstar defensive end Myles Garrett, they were the favorites to win the Super Bowl.
Shortly after the trade, they turned into the overwhelming favorites. The Rams have a lot working for them, including their running backs unit, which has turned into one of the more underrated units on their squad.
While that unit may be underrated, with all the flashy moves the Rams have done, that is not the case for [Moe Moton of Bleacher Report](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/25434170-ranking-nfls-best-running-back-duos-ahead-2026-season). Moton ranked the NFL's best running back duos ahead of the season and named Kyren Williams and Blake Corum at the top.
"With a slightly more consistent Pro Bowl rusher in the lead role out of their backfield, the Los Angeles Rams take the top spot with their running back duo.
"The Rams aren't getting elite receiving numbers out of their top two tailbacks, but Williams and Corum are arguably the best rushing duo entering the 2026 season."
Rams’ backfield could be even better in 2026
--------------------------------------------
The Rams' running back unit made some noise in the 2025 season, and specifically towards the end. Williams has established himself as a Pro Bowl running back in the league, and the backup in Corum showed that he has a ton of potential.
Last season, Corum rushed for 746 yards, averaging an impressive 5.1 yards per carry. The Rams have struggled with finding a solid backup since they made Williams RB1, and Corum has shown he can be that and possibly more.
With Matthew Stafford and the passing game getting a ton of attention, the running back unit has somewhat flown under the radar. They were a top unit in 2025, averaging 126.6 yards per game, ranking seventh in the league and a strong 4.6 yards per carry.
It was a highly successful unit, and the expectation is that Williams and Corum will be even better in 2026.
If the Rams' running game continues to improve and the rest of the roster clicks into place, Los Angeles has a real chance to validate the expectations surrounding them and emerge as the kind of complete juggernaut many believe they can be this upcoming season.
