Denzel Ward sends clear message regarding his future with Cleveland Browns

Star cornerback Denzel Ward sent a comforting message to Cleveland Browns fans following the trade of star edge rusher Myles Garrett.

While Garrett and Ward are friends, Ward made it clear that he isn't interested in following his friend out of town.

Instead, Ward wants to continue his career in Cleveland and help the Browns win football games.

"I definitely still want to be here," Ward said of Cleveland, via ESPN. "Myles is a good friend of mine, a great teammate, but things aren't lost. It's Ohio against the world. So people could doubt us, but we're going out there still trying to play our best ball and bring wins to the city.

"Crazy trade, definitely a crazy trade," Ward added. "I believe that either you're with us or against us, and as you see, he's not with us. Crazy trade, but hey, that's the nature of this game."

It sounds like Ward and the Browns are on the same page. Following the Garrett trade, Browns general manager Andrew Berry made it clear that the team doesn't plan to move on from Ward, too.

"[Ward is] a big part of the team, and we like him a lot," Berry said. "He's still playing at a really high level. That doesn't change with this transaction."

Ward still has two years remaining on the five-year, $100.5 million extension he signed with the Browns back in 2022.
