Fat Joe is ready to declare NBA Finals over if NY wins Game 3

The New York Knicks are preparing for one of the wildest scenes in Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Monday night. When they take on the San Antonio Spurs, it will be the first NBA Finals game the city has seen since 1999, and this one will feature a certain Commander in Chief in attendance.

Given how they've played so far this postseason, how they've started these NBA Finals, and what is at stake, Fat Joe has a hot take about the Knicks.

The famed New York rapper has been along for the ride with the Knicks so far this postseason, and went on ESPN's First Take Monday to speak bout the special NBA Finals run his Knicks have been on.

“I feel like honestly, if we win tonight, it's over, over, over,” Fat Joe said during his First Take appearance. “Now, yesterday, Mikal Bridges scared the hell out of me when he started explaining how they were up 2-0 and lost four in a row. Like I already thought we won the chip. So when he explained that, I said, ‘Oh my God, this guy put me in a must win tonight situation.' So that's where I'm at as a fan. We must win tonight.

“Now, this is the craziest thing I'm about to say and everybody don't kill me, right, in America. But the way the numbers are lining up, if these guys sweep four in a row, the statistics are saying it's the greatest team of all time.”

That's when Fat Joe was interrupted by Stephen A. Smith and Mike Wilbon to slow his roll regarding the Knicks potentially being the greatest team we've seen.

“No, they would tie with the Golden State Warriors,” Smith said. “Golden State did the same thing in 2017.

“Okay, well, one of the greatest teams in this generation.”

“One of the greatest runs,” Mike Wilbon added. “One of the greatest runs. You can't be a truly great team when you're a three seed. Yeah. Because the regular season counts too.”

“Oh, so you found the loophole,” Fat Joe responded. “It's a loophole.”

“No, no, no, no, that's definition. You ain't getting the number one anything with three seed. It's a great run. Great.

“You sweep every [series]. What kind of run? Hasn't seen in a long time? Phenomenal run. One of the all time great runs. That's it, that's it. There we go.”

"Honestly, if we win tonight. It's over… If these guys sweep four in a row. The statistics are saying it's the greatest team of all-time."

Either way, Monday night is going to be a wild scene, and things would get even more interesting if the San Antonio Spurs, who have lost the first games of this series at home, find a way to win Game 3 and put pressure on the Knicks for Game 4.

Game 3 is set to tipoff at 8:30PM EST on ABC.
