The [New England Patriots](https://nesn.com/new-england-patriots) pulled off a trade for A.J. Brown this offseason, but despite the move, one writer thinks there are still eight receiving corps better than theirs.
Brown is a three-time Pro Bowler, and he is not the only receiver the Patriots added this offseason. They also signed Romeo Doubs. Last season, their top target was Stefon Diggs. He was released, but Doubs and Brown are an upgrade overall. Regardless, [Bleacher Report's Gary Davenport ranked](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/25435155-ranking-nfls-best-wr-groups-after-aj-brown-trade) the receiving corps just ninth best in the league.
Davenport still praised the Patriots' trio of Brown, Doubs and Kayshon Boutte. He also noted that the Patriots have the pieces forDrake Maye to have a magical season.
"Brown has posted six 1,000-yard seasons in seven years," Davenport wrote on Monday. "Doubs has yet to have that sort of statistical impact over four years in Green Bay, but he's a weapon out of the slot. Boutte showed flashes of being a big-bodied downfield weapon in the vein of Brown last season in New England. Drake Maye has all the ingredients for a huge 2026 seasonĀ and the weapons to make it happen."
The teams ranked ahead of New England were the Jacksonville Jaguars, Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Rams, Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings.
There may be some arguments to be made about the Jaguars, Seahawks, Broncos and Lions being ahead of the Patriots, but not against the other teams.
The Patriots, on paper, will have a better receiving corps than last season. They were able to make it to the Super Bowl without this strong of a group last season, so, with the additions, they have a chance to be dominant in the air this year.
