Andoni Iraola’s reign has started at Liverpool, with a busy summer ahead in the transfer window as the club look to rebuild after a disappointing 2025/26 campaign.
Iraola was officially confirmed as head coach last Thursday, reuniting with sporting director Richard Hughes. The pair are now preparing for a crucial few months as they reshape the squad.
Supporters are expecting new arrivals, including Yan Diomande, who has already emerged as one of Liverpool’s primary targets.
There is also ongoing uncertainty around Rio Ngumoha, who continues to attract interest from Bayern Munich after making his England debut ahead of the World Cup.
In attack, Federico Chiesa has been linked with a summer exit, while Liverpool are also monitoring Elliot Anderson ofNottingham Forest, though they face strong competition from Manchester City.
Man City had an opening bid for midfielder Elliot Anderson rejected by Nottingham Forest, however they are preparing a second bid for the player as they look to strengthen their midfield options.
According to talkSPORT, Man City are prepared to pay in excess of £80million for Anderson. Manchester United are also interested in the midfielder but are aware that City are currently in pole position.
If a deal goes through, Forest are expected to demand a fee well above the £55m they received for Anthony Elanga last summer, which would make Anderson their record sale. The club value him closer to the £105m Arsenal paid for Declan Rice in 2023.
Anderson, who is currently with the England squad in Florida ahead of their opener against Croatia on June 17, enjoyed a strong 2025/26 season with four goals and four assists in 38 appearances.
Despite speculation over Rodri’s future, City are prepared to pursue Anderson regardless of whether he stays at the club.
Nico Gonzalez could leave Manchester City this summer if the right offer arrives, having missed out on a place in Spain’s World Cup squad and fallen out of favour under Pep Guardiola last season.
City are targeting a new right-back to provide competition for Matheus Nunes, who impressed after being deployed in an unfamiliar defensive role this campaign. The club are understood to be prioritising a young, natural full-back who can develop into the position long-term.
