Giants’ Abdul Carter Suffers Brutal Injury At Practice
According to New York beat reporter Pat Leonard:
Development: Giants edge Abdul Carter had his entire left shoe and sock off, and he’s being examined by trainers. He is limping VERY gingerly off to the side.
I didn’t see it happen, but Carter got banged up during this practice. He just limped into the indoor field as practice continues outside
As Carter will be a vital part of the Giants’ defense in 2026, this is a situation that should be closely monitored.
Carter was drafted by the Giants in 2025 with the third overall pick. Carter had a slow start to his career with 0.5 sacks in his first 12 games as a professional.
In the final five games, Carter accumulated 3.5 sacks.
It is the Giants’ hope that the Penn State product can continue to build upon his late-season surge in order to become the superstar edge rusher they envisioned when New York drafted him last year.
Here is a video of Harbaugh speaking about the injury after practice:
John Harbaugh: Abdul Carter twisted his ankle. Left practice early.
Doesn’t appear serious.
