TreVeyon Henderson Lands With NFC East Squad Instead Of Patriots In 2025 Re-Draft

The New England Patriots were lucky to draft running back TreVeyon Henderson 38th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, but they wouldn't have the same fortune in a re-draft.

In a 2025 re-draft, Bleacher Report's Gary Davenport has Henderson going No. 29 to the Washington Commanders.

"Jacory Croskey-Merritt wasn't a bad player as a rookie, but in terms of game-breaking ability he's just not on the same level as TreVeyon Henderson," Davenport wrote on Sunday. "Last year as a rookie with the New England Patriots, Henderson averaged over five yards a carry and became just the second player in NFL history to have two games with multiple 50-yard rushing touchdowns. Henderson is a threat to house it every time he touches the ball."

Henderson participated in all 17 games last season, racking up 180 rushes for 911 yards and nine touchdowns. He also played a significant role in the receiving game, catching 35 passes for 221 yards and one touchdown.

New England's offense made significant strides with Henderson in the backfield, which in turn helped quarterback Drake Maye improve. If the Patriots hadn't drafted Henderson, there's a possibility they might not have reached the Super Bowl, considering his few standout performances during the regular season.

Henderson should be able to build on his rookie season during his sophomore year, and hopefully, he can step up as the No. 1 running back at times in 2026.
