The Sacramento Kings have been heavily linked to several players heading into this month’s NBA Draft–but what do the NBA Mock Drafts say?
With just over two weeks remaining until Commissioner Adam Silver heads to the podium to announce the start of the 2026 NBA Draft, let’s take a look at who draft experts and analysts predict will land in Sacramento’s lap with the 7th overall pick.
On the heels of an abysmal 22-60 season, the Kings are in need of a splash this summer. Could Arkansas guard Darius Acuff Jr. be the splash they’re looking for? How about Houston guard Kingston Flemings?

According to the latest NBA Mock Drafts, it’s likely one of those two talents will be donning purple and black come Summer League.
Here’s a look at an NBA Mock Draft roundup as we count down the days until to June 23rd.

ESPN: 7th pick: Houston PG Kingston Flemings
NBA evaluators have most often compared Flemings to De’Aaron Fox, with Flemings’ exceptional top-gear speed putting pressure on the paint and opening the floor in transition.
Though Fox has better physical tools, with a wider wingspan and broader shoulders, the two players are stylistically similar, relying on their first step and living in midrange areas as scorers.
Flemings likely won’t be the same caliber defender as Fox due to the physical disparity, but Flemings plays with energy on that end and has a chance to be more additive than most guards his size. The continued development of his jumper is pivotal, but Fox is a good example of a lead guard whose athleticism has allowed him to be successful despite historically being an average shooter from range.

Bleacher Report: 7th pick: Houston PG Kingston Flemings
The Sacramento Kings figure to be hunting down a new point guard with a number of lottery-caliber ball-handlers to choose from.
Kingston Flemings’ measurements were disappointing, as he came in just a half-inch taller than Darius Acuff (who’d been considered undersized) with four fewer inches of length.
But he surprised by leading the NBA combine in the three-point star drill (overtaking Alex Karaban), making 19-of-25 shots. He also hit 15-of-25 spot-ups threes, encouraging signs for a guard whose bread and butter in college was separating into mid-range jumpers.
Flemings then finished top five in the max vertical (40.5″), pro lane agility test, shuttle run and sprint time.
He showed at Houston that he can efficiently initiate offense or play with another ball-handler (Milos Uzan), which should prevent teams with point guards from worrying too much about fit or logjams.

It feels like the Kings are likely to end up with the best guard available. They’re doing due diligence into players such as Ament and others, but they need a point guard to replace De’Aaron Fox, and this is an outstanding draft in which to do it. In this case, the best guards available are Flemings and Brown.
Flemings has done workouts with teams lower than this to find a floor for his services, but he’s in the mix with teams from the Nos. 5 to 7 range. He has impressed in interviews, his speed is a serious weapon for teams and he’s been viewed as the best defender of the elite lead guard crop in this class. The Kings could use all these skills.

USA Today: 7th pick: Arkansas PG Darius Acuff Jr.
The Kings need a potential star and according to Yahoo’s Kevin O’Connor, folks around the league “widely believe” they are targeting Arkansas freshman Darius Acuff Jr. in this class.
En route to the Sweet 16, the SEC Player of the Year proved he is one of the most enticing offensive prospects in recent memory. Acuff Jr. led the nation for points created (1,394) either by himself or through an assist, per CBB Analytics.
The speedy guard led freshmen for field goals made in transition (72) and field goals made from both the left and right side of the court. He was among the freshmen leaders in alley-oop assists (17) as well.
He has significant defensive deficiencies but is one of the most exciting offensive prospects in recent memory. It’s also worth noting Kings executive Scott Perry coached Acuff’s father in college.

SB Nation: 7th pick: Arkansas PG Darius Acuff Jr.
The worst kept secret in the draft is that the Kings love Darius Acuff. Somehow, they are still able to land him despite falling all the way to No. 7 with the league’s fourth-worst record.
Acuff is a polarizing player largely because of his defensive shortcomings, but there’s no doubt he was a prime time performer at Arkansas who fills an obvious need at point guard in Sacramento.
