Mike Brown, Mitch Johnson get honest about Donald Trump NBA Finals attendance

Both NBA Finals head coaches Mike Brown and Mitch Johnson are not bothered and could not care less about Donald trump watching Game 3 of their championship series.

There has been a lot of chatter surrounding United States President Donald Trump's looming attendance for Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and the New York Knicks.

With the highest-seated public official of America set to appear on Monday's big night at Madison Square Garden, extreme security measures were imposed. No official watch parties were organized for the passionate Knicks fanbase, while fans attending the game faced stern inspection, including a strict no-bag policy. Ticket holders and media members were also required to undergo extensive TSA-style screenings before entering the arena.

Many have expressed their displeasure about the polarizing appearance of Trump in Game 3, with ESPN pundit Stephen A. Smith blasting the U.S. president for his narcissistic approach and Spurs star De'Aaron Fox openly admitting that it was fully inconvenient for everyone to adjust and adhere to the strict security rules.

Knicks coach Mike Brown reacts to Donald Trump NBA Finals Game 3 attendance

Mike Brown could not care less about Donald Trump's forthcoming appearance in Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

In his pregame speech ahead of the high-stakes matchup, the Knicks head coach made it clear that his focus is solely on getting the job done for the continuation of the title series.

As he and the Knicks have won the past two games on the road, Brown is looking forward to lead the Knicks again in potentially securing a commanding 3-0 lead against the Spurs.

"I'm just locked in, man, on Game 3," he told reporters. "A lot of people text me all the time about this and that. And for me, my focus is just what's next and what's in front of me. And game three is in front of us right now. And I feel our group is that way, too.

Furthermore, Brown also dismissed any inconvenience he might have felt in terms of travelling.

"Coming here, you know, I stayed downtown because we were practicing here. So I stayed downtown at the team hotel. I've never done that on a game before. But it's easier because we're practicing here," Brown argued. "And so staying downtown and coming from, our hotel to here was a shorter drive or a shorter commute than what I'm used to coming from Westchester County."

"I have not felt any inconvenience, we've got a big game tonight. ... I'd rather be a part of it than not."
