President Trump could only smile while getting booed at Madison Square Garden.
Last week, Trump revealed that he would be attending Game 3 of the NBA finals between the Spurs and the Knicks.
Despite the controversy, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver had no issue with President Trump attending the game.
“He was a fixture at Madison Square Garden…he had courtside seats, here ALL the time. He was at drafts. He’s a GENUINE Knicks fan.”
“What makes sports so special, especially when there’s so much that divides people, is it’s something that we have in common. We should look for those things we have in common and build off that.”
“We should be using sports to create more of a sense of community with people, not less.”
On Monday, Trump’s expected arrival at Game 3 caused chaos outside of MSG as long lines of fans were forced to go through extra security due to the President’s presence.

Trump was eventually shown on the Jumbotron during the national anthem and was loudly booed by MSG fans. Trump reacted to the boos by smiling back at the crowd.
