The San Antonio Spurs entered Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden staring down a 2-0 deficit in the series, and well aware of the fact that no team in NBA history has ever recovered from a 3-0 deficit in a playoff series.
There’s a chance San Antonio was too aware, or at least forward Victor Wembanyama was. In the first half, ABC cameras caught Wembanyama shoving star Knicks points guard Jalen Brunson to the ground by his head.

The play itself is more than enough to draw criticism of Wembanyama, but the young Spurs star is also seen on camera laughing about the incident in the immediate aftermath.
Fans on social media were rightfully outraged by the exchange.
“This is the 5th separate dirty play in JUST THESE PLAYOFFS I hate this guy,” one fan posted on X.
“He’s such a dirty f\*\*\*\*\*g player and gets away with it because of his PR. Every f\*\*\*\*\*g play the spurs are committing moving screens and getting away with murder while the Knicks can’t even touch them.,” someone else added.
“Wemby out here using Brunson as a step stool and the refs just watching like it’s a highlight reel,” another fan added.
This isn’t the first time Wembanyam has behaved questionably in these playoffs either. He received an ejection for an elbow to the head area of Minnesota Timberwolves forward Naz Reid. After the ejection, Wembanyama wasn’t punished any further, but now if it seems like this is becoming a trend, the league offices just might step in this time around.
