Josh Hart understood that he and the New York Knicks made critical errors in their Game 3 loss to the San Antonio Spurs in the 2026 NBA Finals on Monday night.
Hart is going through the ninth season of his NBA career, his fourth with the Knicks. He shines as a valuable two-way star for the team, helping them get to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999.
Going into the game, New York boasts a 2-0 series lead. They stunned San Antonio on the road in Games 1 and 2, being two wins away from the franchise's first title since 1973.
However, New York took steps back on the defensive side of the ball and turned the ball over 13 times. Hart reflected on those issues after the game, knowing they have to start the game better than they did in past contests.
“They were down 2-0. You knew they were going to come out with a sense of urgency and a sense of desperation. We should've started the game off better. We should've started the third quarter off better,” Hart said.
