Kieron Dyer back in the game

Kieron Dyer has signed as Southend United’s new head coach, replacing the departing Kevin Maher on a two-year deal.

It is his first full-time managerial post, but he has previously coached at Chesterfield and in Ipswich Town’s academy.

Dyer was capped 33 times for England during a 17-year playing career, which featured spells at Newcastle and West Ham.

He said on signing: “We will fear no one in this league. We will try to dominate the ball and play with such a high intensity; it’s one of my non-negotiables. I feel if we do these things then we have a great chance.

“To the supporters, I’ll do everything I can to be successful, so enjoy the ride. It’s going to be a lot of fun and hopefully you’ll enjoy the football that we put out on the pitch.”

Newcastle line up Tonali replacement

Newcastle will consider a move for Monaco and Senegal star Lamine Camara should Sandro Tonali or Joe Willock leave the club this summer.

Camara will represent his nation at the World Cup after he played 24 league matches for Monaco last season.

That is according to the Daily Telegraph, who add the club are looking to build a new-look side for Eddie Howe after an underwhelming season.

They have a long-term plan in place which, if successful, will see them established as European regulars by 2030.

The Magpies are keen to avoid a repeat of last summer’s long-running Alexander Isak transfer saga, which saw the Sweden striker force his way out of the club on Deadline Day for a British record fee.

Divock Origi hangs up the boots

Divock Origi has retired from football at 31.

The former Lille, Nottingham Forest, and AC Milan striker hangs up his boots having won the bulk of his career silverware with Liverpool. That includes one Premier League, one FA Cup and one League Cup, as well as the 2018/19 Champions League and subsequent Super Cup.

He said in a statement: “My purpose in the game is fulfilled. I lived out my childhood dreams: to play on the biggest stages and win the biggest trophies.

“Representing Belgium, my nation, while carrying Kenya, my roots, was a joy. To the fans who helped me shine, and to every club, coach and teammate who stood beside me: this will forever be ours.

“I am grateful to God for all of it. Now I step into my next calling.”

Real Madrid make Fernandez approach

Real Madrid expressed a serious interest in buying Enzo Fernandez this summer.

That is according to the Daily Mail, who add that Chelsea are yet to receive a formal offer from Los Blancos.

Liverpool target Rayan and Diomande as Salah replacements

Liverpool could significantly bolster their attack this summer with the signings of Rayan and Yan Diomande.

The Reds are looking to retool in the final third after a hugely disappointing title defence in the Premier League that led to the exit of Arne Slot and Andoni Iraola’s subsequent hiring, with Anfield icon Mohamed Salah set to exit on a free transfer.

The i Paper report that Iraola is a huge fan of Rayan, who thrived under his management during a first few months at Bournemouth following a £24.7m switch from Brazilian outfit Vasco da Gama in January.

He is said to have been on Liverpool’s transfer radar even before the arrival of ex-Cherries boss Iraola last week.

It is reported that Liverpool are also in talks over Ivory Coast winger Diomande, whose current club RB Leipzig are demanding a huge £120m fee.

Both Rayan and Diomande will feature at the World Cup this summer.

Fulham make Harry Wilson contract offer but Raul Jimenez to exit

Fulham have confirmed that Harry Wilson is in talks over a new contract, but Raul Jimenez will leave this month when his deal expires, writes Alex Young.

Wilson's current terms will expire on June 30, and the club are desperate to keep hold of the forward after a career-best season.

The former Liverpool youngster scored 10 goals in 36 Premier League appearances this term to attract interest from rival top-flight clubs.

Fulham face a fight to keep hold of Wilson, who was named the club's player of the season.

Man Utd eye shock swoop for Chelsea's Marc Cucurella

Manchester United reportedly hold an interest in signing Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella this summer.

Cucurella remains an important figure at Stamford Bridge as the first-choice left-back, a role which should continue to be his under the leadership of new head coach and compatriot Xabi Alonso.

Barcelona are known to be long-term admirers of Cucurella, a graduate of the Blaugrana’s famous ‘La Masia’ academy who was previously a key player for Barcelona B and made one appearance at first-team level before joining LaLiga rivals Eibar and later Getafe.

The 27-year-old made headlines back in March, when he admitted during a press conference while on international duty with Spain that it would be “hard to turn down” a return to the Camp Nou, though he insisted he was happy at Chelsea.

Liverpool plot move for £100m Adam Wharton

There has been plenty more speculation in recent days surrounding the future of Adam Wharton.

Crystal Palace’s star midfielder is being tipped for a big-money move away from the Conference League winners this summer, with Manchester United, Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea among the clubs said to be interested.

Unlike Elliot Anderson, Wharton did not make Thomas Tuchel’s final England squad for the World Cup, so has plenty of time to decide on his next move in the weeks ahead.

Ben Jacobs of GiveMeSport has suggested that Liverpool may now be plotting a high-profile swoop for a player they “really appreciate” in Wharton.

Other reports of late have claimed that Palace will demand £100m for their top asset, who remains under contract at Selhurst Park until 2029.

Arsenal and Liverpool learn Eli Junior Kroupi price

Bournemouth have slapped an eye-watering asking price on Eli Junior Kroupi amid reported interest from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, writes Alex Young.

The teenager has enjoyed a remarkable rise to prominence this season, following a £10million move from Lorient last summer, notching 13 goals in his first year in English football.

Such form has reportedly attracted Liverpool and the London rivals, along with PSG, who are said to want to bring the French forward back to Ligue 1 to bolster their fearsome attack.

With manager Andoni Iraola swapping the Vitality Stadium for Anfield last week, it has been suggested that the new Liverpool boss will want to bring Kroupi with him.

Man City preparing new Elliot Anderson bid

Manchester City are plotting a new bid for Elliot Anderson, reports claim.

The Nottingham Forest midfielder is a transfer priority for an uncertain summer at the Etihad Stadium, where former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is expected to replace the outgoing Pep Guardiola.

City are desperate to beat rivals Manchester United to the signing of Anderson, who will be a key player for England at the World Cup.

They have already seen one offer rejected, but Fabrizio Romano now claims that a new second bid is being prepared and will be sent to Forest soon.

He adds that frontrunners City are confident of getting a deal for Anderson over the line, despite United still being interested after clinching the £35m signing of Brazil international Ederson from Atalanta.

Tottenham to hold new talks over Jan Paul van Hecke

Another update now on Jan Paul van Hecke to Tottenham.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has tweeted this morning to say that negotiations between Spurs and Brighton over the versatile Dutch defender will continue this week.

Further talks have been scheduled after Tottenham saw two opening offers rejected for a player who is believed to be valued by his current club at around the £70million mark.

Romano says that Van Hecke wants to join Spurs and is a key target for his former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi.

Can they strike a breakthrough in negotiations?

Van Hecke is part of the Netherlands’ World Cup squad, who contest a final warm-up friendly against tournament debutants Uzbekistan in New York this evening after losing 1-0 to Algeria in Rotterdam last week.

They begin their Group F campaign against Japan in Dallas on Sunday night.

Tottenham star confirms Jan Paul van Hecke transfer talks

Micky van de Ven has revealed he spoke to Netherlands team-mate Jan Paul van Hecke about Tottenham as the club plot a third bid for the Brighton defender, writes Alex Young.

Spurs have twice seen bids rejected for the centre-back, who is said to be keen on reuniting with his former Seagulls manager Roberto De Zerbi in north London.

Brighton chief executive Paul Barber confirmed on Sunday that Spurs are not the only club currently tracking Van Hecke, who reportedly has a £70million asking price.

Mourinho wants Arsenal star Calafiori at Real Madrid

Florentino Perez’s successful re-election as Real Madrid president yesterday could yet have a knock-on effect for Arsenal in the transfer market this summer.

As previously mentioned, Perez’s victory over rival Enrique Riquelme will ensure that a mammoth bid is now launched for Bayern Munich star Michael Olise and also that Jose Mourinho will definitely be returning as manager - 13 years after his initial exit from the Bernabeu.

The likes of Denzel Dumfries and Ibrahima Konate are already on their way to Madrid, even if Rodri and Erling Haaland won’t be, while the Spanish media and Fabrizio Romano have both reported that Mourinho also wants to sign Arsenal’s Riccardo Calafiori.

Tottenham agree deals with Jan Paul van Hecke and Savinho

Tottenham are certainly wasting no time in the summer transfer market as they look to avoid another embarrassing relegation fight in the Premier League next season.

Spurs have already secured the arrival of Andy Robertson on a free transfer following his emotional exit from Liverpool and are poised to do the same with Marcos Senesi, who is leaving Bournemouth.

It was also confirmed over the weekend by Brighton chief executive Paul Barber that Tottenham had seen two bids for Jan Paul van Hecke rejected.

A third offer is likely to be imminent, with Dutch outlet Voetbal International now reporting that Spurs have agreed personal terms with the versatile, World Cup-bound defender.

Tottenham remain in hot pursuit of Manchester City winger Savinho, who has also agreed personal terms on a contract until 2031, per journalist Nicolo Schira.

Real Madrid to launch £130m Michael Olise bid

All eyes will now be on Real Madrid and Michael Olise after Florentino Perez was successfully re-elected as the club’s president last night.

Perez saw off competition from rival Enrique Riquelme to remain in his position of power at the Bernabeu.

The battle for the top job at Madrid saw both candidates make a number of big promises, with Enrique vowing to push to sign the likes of Manchester City duo Erling Haaland and Rodri.

Perez, meanwhile, vowed to bring back Jose Mourinho as manager and also launch an audacious £130m bid for Bayern Munich superstar Olise.

Emmanuel Mbemba wants Arsenal move

Jeremy Monga may not be the only wonderkid on the way to Arsenal this summer.

The Gunners are also believed to be in pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain defender Emmanuel Mbemba.

Arsenal are said to have made an approach for the 18-year-old last week, just days after losing the Champions League final to PSG on penalties in Budapest.

Mbemba - who can play at centre-back or left-back - has been offered a new deal by the French giants, but is available for just £150,000 in training compensation with his current contract due to expire at the end of the month.

Reports now claim that the France youth international favours a switch to the Emirates Stadium.

Man Utd handed Morgan Rogers boost

Manchester United could emerge as the frontrunners in the crowded race to sign Morgan Rogers.

The Aston Villa playmaker is currently one of the hottest properties in English football after another fantastic season as he helped Unai Emery’s side to win the Europa League and also finish fourth in the Premier League.

As he now prepares to play a key role for England at the World Cup this summer, Rogers’ club future is subject to much intense speculation, with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City just some of the clubs believed to be interested in his services.

But some intriguing Rogers quotes have now resurfaced from earlier in the season in which he said there was “no bigger club than Manchester United” ahead of Villa’s 2-1 win over the Red Devils in the Premier League in December.

Make of that what you will...

Chelsea step up Dusan Vlahovic talks

Chelsea reportedly want to make Dusan Vlahovic an early signing for new boss Xabi Alonso.

The Juventus striker has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United having been interested in the past.

But it looks like Stamford Bridge could well be Vlahovic’s next destination instead, with reports from Italy cited by TEAMtalk suggesting that Chelsea are stepping up talks over his signature.

The Blues are said to be in contact with Vlahovic’s father Milos, who is believed to be listening to offers on his son’s behalf.

Newcastle are also rumoured to be in the running for the Serbian international.

Arsenal agree Jeremy Monga deal

Arsenal look poised to sign Leicester wonderkid Jeremy Monga.

The Gunners are long-term admirers of the talented teenage winger, the third-youngest player ever to appear in a Premier League match.

Monga’s exit from Leicester now looks guaranteed this summer after the Foxes were relegated to League One following a disastrous season in the Championship.

According to journalist Nicolo Schira, Arsenal have now agreed personal terms with the 16-year-old sensation.

Olise tug of war on the cards as Perez reelected

Real Madrid are set to accelerate their push to sign Michael Olise after Florentino Perez was re-elected as the club’s president - but Bayern Munich remain adamant the Frenchman is not for sale.

Perez has been in his post since 2009 and, per exit polls reported by COPE, Marca and Diario AS, has comfortably beaten Enrique Riquelme in this year’s elections.

While on the campaign trail, he promised to bring another Galactico to the club, with a nine-figure bid mooted, and reports in the Telegraph have since revealed Olise as his secret target.

Bayern, though, will not let Olise go without a fight. They have been on a media charm offensive since Perez issued his promise, telling anyone who will listen that the ex-Crystal Palace winger, who racked up a remarkable 53 goal contributions in 52 appearances this season, is strictly not for sale.

Rogers negotiations underway

More from TalkSport as Arsenal pursue Morgan Rogers.

The Gunners have reportedly opened talks with the player’s personal camp, and they hold a serious interest in bringing him to the Emirates this summer.

Arsenal summer transfer shortlist revealed

Journalist Ben Jacobs has been on the radio discussing Arsenal’s transfer plans this evening.

He tells TalkSport that the Gunners are interested in signing a No6, a No8, a left-winger and a striker in this transfer window.

Signings will depend on outgoings, though, and he suggests Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard are all on the chopping block.

BREAKING: Eriksen 'conscious and doing well' after collapsing again

The Danish FA have confirmed that Christian Eriksen is “conscious and doing well” after collapsing during a friendly match against Ukraine.

The former Tottenham and Manchester United midfielder, who now plies his trade in Germany with Wolfsburg, suffered the same fate at the European championships in 2021 as Denmark faced Finland in the group stage. He was later confirmed to have suffered cardiac arrest and had a defibrillator surgically implanted.

Now 34, he collapsed again late on during Denmark’s friendly meeting with Ukraine, but walked off the pitch under his own steam and has been taken to hospital.

Footage of the incident appears to show Eriksen clutching at his chest before falling to the ground in front of the substitutes’ bench. He was attended to by medical staff almost immediately as players from both teams surrounded him to shield the view of the fans and broadcast cameras.
