Speaking exclusively to Daily Star Sport, via William Hill World Cup 2026 betting odds , Aliadiere said: “I had every club, every single club in Europe we're calling my parents trying to sign me, but I feel like Arsene Wenger called my dad, he picked up the phone and Arsene Wenger was talking to him on there. That was it.
“For me, Arsenal was the club I wanted to play for as a young lad from Paris. I always followed Arsenal because of the French connection, the Patrick Vieira and Emmanuel Petit at the time.
“It was 100% the Wenger's effect. But the other French players there as well, Anelka had a big part to play because he was from the same kind of district where I'm from in Paris, so he was somebody I looked up to.

“It was the best, best experience that I could have ever dreamed of as a young lad who wanted to make it as a pro.
“I've heard Thierry talk a lot about Clairefontaine in the last few years, and we all have the same chat. It was magical, it was just one of those experiences where it's just incredible to just play football every day in that position.
“Most of the time you come out of it as a really, really good football player. It was three years of my life that probably formed me into the professional player I became after.”
