Daily Dawg Chow (6/9): Opinions, injunctions, and primetime games

Myles is a first ballot HOF guy without question. He is sick and every time I see a pic of his guns I chuckle and imagine what it would be like trying to block him one on one. But this trade isn't about a single players stats it is all about if it improves the team as a whole.

I am a fairly opinionated person when it comes to football and this one I have kind of kept opinions to a minimum by my standards. Well, I have now processed the recent move and believe the Browns crushed this trade. I was calling for the Browns to trade Myles before the 25 draft and collect picks. I was wrong and I applaud Andrew Berry for for dismissing my emails and waiting until the perfect time regarding both his value as the all-time sacks leader and DPOY... and his contract status.

The biggest part of this trade that I love is Jared Verse is a complete player who continues to improve each year. He is going to get 10+ sacks this season & I expect him to significantly increase the tackle production we saw from Myles. Verse has a nonstop motor and provides a consistent presence on the field, whereas we often saw Myles on the sidelines during crucial moments.

Furthermore, I believe Jared will prioritize being in the correct position over chasing sack records. A team is only as good as its weakest link, and there were times when Myles became a liability by losing contain or failing to play the gap correctly. Verse may not be as flashy, but he will make the defense better. When you have eleven players trusting one another to stay in position, you have the makings of a playoff team.
