The San Antonio Spurs bounced back from consecutive home defeats by securing a crucial Game 3 win in the 2026 NBA Finals, edging out the New York Knicks 115-111. The result was a painful one for the Knicks, who saw their 13-game home winning streak come to an end in front of a stunned Madison Square Garden crowd.
With the series now standing at 2-1, Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy expressed doubt over the Spurs’ ability to complete the comeback.
“No biggie. Knicks fans will just have to wait 1 extra game. Nothing to worry about. No way they become 1st team in NBA history to blow 2-0 lead after winning 2 on the road. They are still in total control,” Portnoy wrote.
However, former Dallas Cowboys’ star Dez Bryant quickly pushed back on that take.
“The Spurs will be the first team DAVE!” Bryant tweeted.
Victor Wembanyama led the charge with an all-around performance, finishing with 32 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 blocks, helping quiet the home crowd. Stephon Castle also made a major impact, as he recorded 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.
For the Knicks, Jalen Brunson matched Wembanyama’s 32 points, while OG Anunoby contributed 28, but the Knicks’ offense faded in the second half when it mattered most.
“I'm waiting for a certain number of people who came at me filthy! I mean dirty as fuck!!! to enter my mentions before I go find them. If I have to find you..it won't be nice for you losers,” Bryant wrote in another tweet.
The Knicks had entered Game 3 riding momentum, having not lost since Game 3 of the first round against the Atlanta Hawks. The pressure now shifts back to them as they look to defend home court in Game 4 and regain control of the series.
As for the Spurs, the challenge will be to keep up the momentum and level the series with a potential win in Game 4.
