Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott is reportedly on Liverpool’s radar, but has a massive price tag slapped on his name.
talkSPORT’s Alex Crook has reported that the Cherries are looking for £80million for the England international:
“Bournemouth value sought-after midfielder Alex Scott at around £80million and remain determined to keep him this summer.”
“Scott is emerging as a target for Liverpool and fellow Premier League heavyweights Manchester United after a stellar season on the Dorset coast.”
However, it’s added that Bournemouth has no intention of cashing in on the highly rated midfielder, despite the growing interest.
The club still believe they can persuade Scott to commit his future on improved terms, with talks expected to centre around inserting a carefully structured release option.
Crook explains that the mechanism is likely to mirror the model used in Antoine Semenyo’s last deal, when he agreed a fresh five-year contract that contained a time‑limited clause.
Signed from Bristol City in the summer of 2023 for a fee in the region of £25m, he has rapidly grown from Championship prospect to one of the Premier League’s most talked‑about young midfielders.
Last season he was virtually ever‑present for Andoni Iraola, racking up around 37 appearances in all competitions and chipping in with three goals and an assist while operating primarily as a right‑sided No.8.
Of course, his former Cherries boss is now the Liverpool manager.
His development has not gone unnoticed at international level either.
Scott earned his first senior England call‑up earlier this season and, although he did not make Thomas Tuchel’s final 26‑man squad for the 2026 World Cup, he was named on the expanded long list and invited to join the training camp in Florida as one of four supplementary players.
Meanwhile, Bournemouth’s Rayan has also been tipped as another one of Iraola’s former players he could look to bring to Anfield.
