Bournemouth have set a high price tag for midfielder Alex Scott, amid new reports of interest from Liverpool following the appointment of Andoni Iraola.
Scott emerged as a favourite of Iraola’s while in charge of Bournemouth and it is perhaps no surprise the 22-year-old is now being linked with Liverpool.
The latest reports come from a reliable source in talkSPORT‘s Alex Crook, whose connections with both clubs add credibility to claims over Scott’s future.
He writes – along with transfer journalist Ben Jacobs on X – that Bournemouth are now seeking a fee in the region of £80 million for Scott this summer.
They “remain determined to keep him,” according to Crook, and are seeking to tie him down to a new long-term contract which could include a release clause.

That comes with Liverpool joined in their interest by Man United and Tottenham, while a number of other midfielders including West Ham‘s Manuel Fernandes and Crystal Palace‘s Adam Wharton are valued at similar amounts.
Bournemouth are clearly open to negotiating release clauses into the contracts of high-profile players to ensure short-term commitment and protect themselves in future negotiations.
Antoine Semenyo was available in January for a fee of £65 million but his release clause would have dropped to £50 million had he stayed until this summer.
The winger instead joined Man City mid-season, with Bournemouth agreeing terms worth just under that £65 million clause with a favourable structure and bonuses.
Why Liverpool could still hope for £60m Alex Scott deal

When it comes to Scott, much will depend on the scale of interest this summer and whether the player himself is willing to put pen to paper.
His current deal runs to 2028, and according to The Athletic that could encourage clubs to push for a deal in the region of £60 million, rather than the £80 million now quoted.
The fact there are only two years left on Scott’s contract certainly puts buying clubs in a stronger position – as if he does not extend that deal his market value would only drop in the 12 months to follow.
Scott made 89 appearances under Iraola at Bournemouth, with the new Liverpool head coach developing him into a relentless, ball-carrying midfielder.
He has been on the Reds’ radar since his breakthrough at Bristol City and the club’s recruitment team will have tracked his progress since then – regardless of who was in the dugout at the time.
Iraola’s switch to Anfield has only magnified the public interest in Scott and there is a feeling that, with Curtis Jones and Alexis Mac Allister potentially leaving, he could be an ideal addition for the right price.
