Pelicans currently possess only the No. 58 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The 2026 NBA Draft is two weeks away at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., and the Pelicans don’t own a pick in the first round. Right now, New Orleans possesses the No. 58 pick in the second round of the draft.

The first round of the draft is on Tuesday, June 23, and the second round on Wednesday, June 24.

The Pelicans traded their No. 23 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft and their first round pick in 2026 to the Atlanta Hawks. They moved up ten spots to No. 13 to select forward Derik Queen. Hawks will draft No. 8 overall in the 2026 first round with the Pels pick.

To acquire that No. 23 pick in the 2025 draft, the Pels gave the Pacers back their own 2026 first-round pick. Indiana traded that to the Clippers, and now Los Angeles owns the No. 5 overall pick in the 2026 draft.

Queen was selected to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team along with fellow teammate Jeremiah Fears. The rookie out of Maryland averaged 11 points, seven rebounds, and three assists per game.
