For the first time since the NBA playoffs’ first round, the New York Knicks lost a game. WWE star Danhausen, however, is making it clear that it wasn’t his fault.
On Monday night, the Knicks took on the San Antonio Spurs in game three of the NBA Finals, with the New York team heading in on a 13-game win streak, including a 2-0 series lead. This streak was due in part to Danhausen, who famously “cursed,” then “uncursed” the Knicks during the first round of the NBA playoffs.
Danhausen himself even showed support for the Knicks by attending the latest game in NYC’s Madison Square Garden. Unfortunately for the Knicks, his added presence didn’t result in a win.
The Spurs, backed by Victor Wembanyama’s 32 points, bested the Knicks with a final score of 115-111. Afterward, Danhausen took to social media to diffuse any blame.
“Danhausen isn’t to blame for tonight,” he wrote alongside a popular meme of Bart Simpson from The Simpsons, covering his ears.
The image in the meme comes from The Simpsons season 05 episode “Bart Gets Famous.”
Wearing a Knicks jersey, the “very nice, very evil” star appeared on game three’s broadcast multiple times, one of which saw him chattering alongside WWE and ESPN broadcaster Pat McAfee.
Meanwhile, over in Paris, France, WWE hosted Raw on Monday, with Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and Je’Von Evans notably advancing in the 2026 Queen and King of the Ring tournaments, respectively. Elsewhere, Women’s IC and Men’s IC Champion Sol Ruca and Penta successfully defended their titles.
