Six-time Super Enduro world champion, Billy Bolt has gone head-to-head with Everton FC and England international goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford in a penalty shoot-out like no other.

The Newcastle rider appeared at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium, riding his competition Husqvarna enduro bike over five pressure pads on the ground – each connected to a ball launcher to take shots from different angles.

Bolt activated the pads using a number of methods – including both wheelies and stoppies – challenging Pickford to try and save three shots in a row.

“It was brilliant teaming up with Everton for this one,” Bolt said. “Knowing how much Jordan loves bikes made it even better. It’s not every day you get the chance to ride around Everton’s iconic stadium or take shots against a world-class goalkeeper.”

Alongside the penalty challenge, Bolt put his enduro skills to the test by riding both up and down the stadium stands – heading up and down the steep stair cases, as well as between narrow rows of seats – sometimes on one wheel.

Bolt was also filmed riding around the outside of the stadium, as well as through the tunnel out to the pitch – with the event coming thanks to Bolt’s association with Red Bull, who are also the official energy drink supplier for Everton FC.

Although forging an incredibly successful career in football, in a BBC interview in 2025 Pickford stated that he grew up watching motocross and attends race meetings as often as he can.

The MCN take

This unusual meeting of two sports is not only a bit of fun and entertainments, hopefully it will help to bring some new interest to enduro riding. Bringing new people into motorcycling is something we are always happy to see.
