Donald Trump declares New York City loves him despite being booed loudly at the NBA Finals.
Fans met US President Donald Trump with a chorus of boos when he attended Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs. Trump, the first sitting president to attend an NBA Finals game, showed up as the guest of James Dolan, the Knicks owner and his longtime friend, who made significant donations to his presidential campaigns.
Fans took issue with Trump attending the game, which led to frustrations about the heightened security measures put in place for his attendance at Madison Square Garden.
Despite the negative reaction, Donald Trump believes New York still loves him. The WWE Hall of Famer reposted a video on Truth Social with the caption “NYC loves @realDonaldTrump,” showing the crowd cheering as the presidential motorcade drove past 34th Street in Midtown Manhattan, heading towards Madison Square Garden.
The Knicks lost to the Spurs 115-111 in the third game, but WWE’s Danhausen says it wasn’t his fault this time.
WWE’s Danhausen was also at Game 3 of the NBA Finals
The loss on Monday night ended the New York Knicks’ 13-game win streak, including a 2-0 series lead. The Knicks didn’t lose a single game after WWE’s Danhausen uncursed them when they trailed 2-1 against the Atlanta Hawks.
Danhausen was in attendance at Madison Square Garden for Game 3 of the NBA Finals, and after the Knicks’ defeat, he promptly took to X/Twitter to clarify he didn’t have anything to do with it this time.
