Liverpool are reportedly ‘prioritising’ right-back as an area to strengthen in the transfer window, and Alex Scott’s price tag has been set by Bournemouth.
Liverpool are looking for right-backs
After a season in which Liverpool started matches with no fewer than seven different players at right-back, the Reds are reportedly set to look for new options in the position.
While Conor Bradley is widely considered an excellent player, it is not known yet how he will recover from the serious the knee injury he suffered in January.
In addition, Jeremie Frimpong has also had his own fitness problems and isn’t proving a reliable option at full-back.

“Fortunately, senior Anfield figures insist they have learned lessons from that,” reports journalist David Lynch on his Substack.
Therefore, “after missing out on Denzel Dumfries, the Reds are scouring the market” and “one of the priorities of that upcoming reshuffle is right-back.”

After a year of boring, tame football, Liverpool supporters are looking forward to the excitement that Andoni Iraola‘s style could bring. Harry McMullen takes a deep dive into the new coach’s tactics:
“Bournemouth’s regains come from pressing high against the opponent’s buildup. This means Iraola’s teams win the ball in situations with fewer defenders to beat and therefore a greater opportunity to shoot for goal.
“The key to this is an approach Iraola helped pioneer back in his Rayo Vallecano days of ‘hybrid pressing’.
“Essentially, this sees a team start by defending zonally, only to spring a trap and ‘lock on’ to a man-to-man press across the pitch, once triggered.”

Liverpool's John Barnes emerges from the Anfield tunnel, 1987. 1980s
It was on June 9, 1987, that Liverpool signed John Barnes from Watford for £900,000.
In his first season at Anfield, he scored 17 goals and provided 18 assists as Liverpool won the league.
The winger went on to win three more major trophies for the Reds, as well as picking up the Football Writer’s Player of the Year twice.
He goes down as one of Liverpool’s greatest-ever players and perhaps their most technically-gifted.
