Victor Wembanyama blasts Knicks fans for attacking Spurs fans

On Monday evening, the New York Knicks dropped Game 3 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs on their home court and now lead the series 2-1. After the game, some Knicks supporters had a New York Fan moment when they viciously attacked Spurs fans on the streets outside the arena, which went viral on social media.

Now, Spurs star Victor Wembanyama has put those individuals on blast.

“I am all for passion, but to the respect of each other. It's unacceptable,” said Wembanyama, per the NBA on X, formerly Twitter.

This isn't the first time that Knicks fans have been caught on video physically assaulting fans of the opposing team on the street, and it certainly won't do much to increase their reputation around the league, which has already taken several hits over the years.

Meanwhile, the Spurs showed impressive poise on Monday night to claw their way back into the series. In fact, it was the Knicks who seemed to be more rattled by the electric atmosphere in Madison Square Garden than the young Spurs, who have already rallied from deficits to win a series twice so far in these playoffs.

The Spurs, of course, are still behind the eight-ball in this matchup, trailing 2-1 with another game on the road coming up on Wednesday. However, the team has to feel much more confident about its chances after getting into the win column on Monday.

Game 4 of the Spurs-Knicks NBA Finals is set for Wednesday at 8:30 pm ET, once again from the Garden.
