Knicks superfan Ben Stiller calls out Victor Wembanyama for hit on Jalen Brunson that NBA is reviewing

As the NBA reviews Victor Wembanyama's hit on Jalen Brunson during Game 3 of the Finals, New York Knicks superfan Ben Stiller is making his stance clear.

Stiller took to X, formerly Twitter, to voice his opinion on the matter. Simply put, he doesn't believe it was a “basketball play,” calling Wemby out.

Even some San Antonio Spurs fans agreed with him, with one writing, “Yeah, as a Spurs fan even I can’t defend this. Wemby’s gotta get better at controlling his emotions because this was ridiculous, and it not being a foul was egregiously bad for the sport.”

During the first quarter of Game 3, Wemby and Brunson got tangled up near the free throw line. Wembanyama then shoved the Knicks' captain to the ground, prompting him to confront Wemby.

However, no foul was called. After the game, Brunson simply said, “Whatever you saw is what you saw,” and the NBA is reviewing the play.

As Marc Stein pointed out on X, formerly Twitter, the NBA is doing its “customary” review of the play for any additional penalties. It is possible that he could be given a retroactive flagrant foul.

This wasn't the only time that things got physical with Brunson. He was thrown around by the Spurs, and no flagrant fouls were called. He, however, would be called for a flagrant foul while closing out on a three-point shot by Julian Champagnie.

Regardless, the Spurs beat the Knicks in Game 3 after dropping the first two of the NBA Finals. Game 4 will be played on Wednesday, June 10. The series will then return to San Antonio for Game 5.

Brunson and Wemby both scored 32 points in Game 3. However, Brunson was less efficient, making 11 of his 25 shots (which still resulted in his best field goal percentage of the series).
