Liverpool have announced their retained list following the end of the 2025/26 season, with 12 players released, including Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate.
The departures of the three senior stars were already expected, and they are joined in leaving by Rhys Williams, as well as academy players Kareem Ahmed, Emmanuel Airoboma, James Balagizi, DJ Bernard, Oakley Cannonier, Josh Davidson, Terence Miles and Jacob Poytress.
The Reds also confirmed contract offers have been made to academy players Prince Cissé, Keyrol Figueroa, Kyle Kelly, Afolami Onanuga, Oliver O’Connor, Lucas Pitt, Ben Trueman and Matthew Wright.
Konate is expected to join Real Madrid on a four-year deal after failing to agree an extension at Anfield, while Robertson has already secured a move to Tottenham after signing last week.
Liverpool appointed Andoni Iraola as head coach last Thursday and have started planning for a new era under the Spaniard.
Iraola is expected to assess the squad and backroom staff in the coming weeks before making decisions on transfers and departures.
The club are looking to strengthen this summer and continue monitoring long-term targets. They insist there is no intention to sell 17-year-old winger Rio Ngumoha, who made his senior England debut over the weekend, despite reported interest from Bayern Munich.
Elsewhere, Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has confirmed interest in Curtis Jones, while Federico Chiesa has suggested he may need to leave Anfield in search of regular minutes.
According to The Athletic, Luca Stephenson is attracting interest from several Championship clubs, including Bolton Wanderers.
Discussions are ongoing, but he is expected to leave for around £700,000, with Liverpool set to include a sell-on clause in any potential deal.
Stephenson has returned to Liverpool after his second loan spell at Dundee United was cut short by injury. Across two spells at Tannadice, he made 67 appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals.
This season, he featured 33 times, scoring five goals and providing five assists, having impressed during his time in Scotland.
His contract runs until the summer of 2027. Last month, Stephenson said he is looking for a “permanent home” this summer.
Stephenson was involved in the last two pre-seasons under Arne Slot, but his contract situation and desire for regular football are expected to push Liverpool towards a decision on his future.
