“Rudolph Fits the Bill”: NFL Analyst Suggests the Denver Broncos Trading For Pittsburgh…

The Denver Broncos finished with a 14-3 record last season in the NFL. Denver was the number one seed in the AFC. They lost to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game because quarterback Bo Nix was injured. Jarrett Stidham was the backup for the Broncos a season ago.

There is a chance that the Broncos could potentially trade for a better backup quarterback option before the start of the 2026 NFL season begins. One quarterback who could potentially be on the trade block before the start of the 2026 NFL season is Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph.

Alex Kay of bleacherreport.com created a trade suggestion for the Broncos. He thinks that Denver should trade for Rudolph on Pittsburgh. Kay said,

“The Steelers might attempt to carry four quarterbacks or explore trade options, but neither outcome seems particularly likely. If no trade materializes, Rudolph might find himself released before Week 1.

Should that happen, the Denver Broncos would be a logical landing spot. The Broncos need an upgrade to Jarrett Stidham in wake of last year’s AFC Championship Game calamity, and Rudolph fits the bill as the ideal QB2 behind Bo Nix.

Potential Landing Spot: Denver Broncos”

Pittsburgh is most likely going to keep Aaron Rodgers, Drew Allar, and Will Howard on the roster this season at the quarterback position. Rudolph going to Denver would make sense for both parties. He has been in the league before and would be a reliable backup over Stidham for Nix on the Broncos roster here.
