Charles Barkley Criticizes Knicks' NBA Finals Game 3 Strategy

The New York Knicks‘ historic 13-game playoff win streak came to an end on Monday night, falling to the visiting San Antonio Spurs with a 115-111 final score in Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals.

The Knicks were unable to deliver a victory for their home fans, who’d waited since 1999 to see an NBA Finals game played at Madison Square Garden.

Jalen Brunson led the way for the Knicks offensively, scoring a team-high 32 points. However, he once again struggled with his efficiency, connecting on 11 of his 25 attempts from the field.

After the game, NBA analyst Charles Barkley criticized the Knicks for relying too heavily on Brunson in their offensive game plan.

“I think the Knicks are reverting back to the way they played too much Brunson [centric],” Barkley said. “When they were blowing out teams, they were getting [Karl-Anthony Towns] involved more. They didn’t use KAT at all tonight.”

Towns finished Game 3 with 11 points on 4/10 shooting from the field - his lowest scoring total of the series thus far. OG Anunoby had 28 points on an efficient 9/13 shooting from the field, and Josh Hart chipped in with 16 points.

The Knicks now lead the Spurs 2-1 after stealing both Game 1 and Game 2 on the road in San Antonio. The Spurs will look to even things up in Game 4, which will tipoff at 8:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
