The latest Brown trade rumor took a direct hit on June 9 when Philadelphia Eagles chief security officer Dom DiSandro, better known around the NFL as “Big Dom,” forcefully rejected claims that Brown and former pass rusher Haason Reddick were connected through some internal Eagles dispute. NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo reported DiSandro’s reaction after the conspiracy theory spread across social media.

The facts support Big Dom’s position. Reddick left the Eagles before the 2024 season after seeking a lucrative long-term contract. The organization chose not to meet his demands and traded him to the New York Jets. The veteran edge rusher then entered a similar contract standoff with the Jets. His departure revolved entirely around finances, not locker-room politics.
Brown trade rumor stems from a completely different situation. According to an ESPN report, concerns surrounding Brown’s relationship with quarterback Jalen Hurts played a role in the star receiver exploring alternatives. League sources reportedly said Brown grew frustrated with aspects of the passing game, particularly with opportunities in certain coverage situations.
That tension eventually led the Eagles to trade the three-time Pro Bowler to the Patriots on June 1. Reports later revealed that Brown’s camp had identified four preferred AFC destinations: the Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, and Patriots. The Patriots ultimately offered the strongest package and completed the deal.
Interestingly, Brown’s farewell to the Eagles showed no signs of bitterness. Before leaving the facility, the former Tennessee Titans standout reportedly signed a display photo with a message declaring himself “the best to ever play here” while adding his trademark “always open” slogan.
The Brown trade rumor linking him to Reddick simply does not hold up under scrutiny. One exit was driven by contract demands.
