Blue totaled 129 yards on 38 carries and one touchdown in five games. The brunt of his workload came in the regular-season finale against the New York Giants, when he rushed for a career-high 64 yards on 16 carries and scored his first touchdown in 33 snaps.

During Tuesday’s press conference, Brian Schottenheimer was asked about Jaydon Blue’s progress and expectations for the 2026 NFL season, as reported by Jon Machota of The Athletic. The head coach praised the running back, saying he is much better than he was at this time last year. Schottenheimer added that Blue has a chance to play a “big part” in the offense this season after being limited to 38 carries and 78 snaps offensive snaps as a rookie.

He reflected on the final game of his rookie season
“It meant the world to me to be able to score my first touchdown with the Dallas Cowboys,” Blue said after Week 18, via Patrik Walker of the team’s website. “Man, I’m just very grateful that I was able to play on the stage.
“It felt great just to be back out here again. It’s been a while, but it felt great to be back out there and get to showcase what I can do.”
